2025 in books

I did not rank them because I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. But I did use some asterisks...

2025 was a good year of reading for me. Not because of the quantity. No, the quantity, I have learned, is not very impressive. (My friends are smart.) I went on tour a couple of times this year and the sporadic downtime, the need for alone time, the need to get off my nastylittlephone, and the feeling of being a free rat boy on the road again.. all of it led to a perfect storm of reading. I am back in the swing. I am hooked again.

For those of you who are looking for a ranking, that’s not really what I am up to here. I’m not a book critic, I just love reading. I am here to give you the same recommendations I would give my best friend over a coffee. The main difference here is that at some point they would have to beg me to shut up and for you I have whittled my thoughts down to a few sentences.
